Representational objects and technical constructs suggest the familiar, which in direct proximity with colouring, overpainting and brushstroke do not reproduce the world as we see it, but create a new entity, an atmosphere, a context of meaning, as if the painter, by grasping this world we know, could simultaneously leave it behind and create a new one. The dynamic in its innermost movement, uses the form as pure energy and direction. The edges of the painting and the line of a sculpture that delimits them represent only one moment, that of the fermata, of the pause. So the painterly explosion could go on. The painting, the sculpture could explode and reinvent itself, so to speak detach itself from the worldly limitation and form. And so Robert Kaba's works conquer every space, they are statement and philosophy and with the desire of oscillating detachment they are what, according to Kaba, "physics has described for about 80 years as the impossibility of an exact determination of location" - not entirely of this world.

Gegenständliche Objekte und technische Konstrukte suggerieren Vertrautes, das in direkter Nachbarschaft mit Farbgebung, Übermalung und Pinselduktus nicht die Welt wie wir sie sehen wiedergeben, sondern ein neues Gebilde erzeugen, eine Atmosphäre, einen Bedeutungszusammenhang, ganz so, als könne der Maler durch das Erfassen dieser uns bekannten Welt, sie gleichzeitig hinter sich lassen und eine neue erschaffen. Die Dynamik in ihrer innersten Bewegung, nutzt die Form als pure Energie und richtunggebend. Die Ränder des Bildes und die sie begrenzende Linie einer Skulptur, bilden nur einen Moment ab und zwar den der Fermate, des Innehaltens. Die malerische Explosion könnte also weiter gehen. Das Bild, die Skulptur könnte sich selbst sprengen und neu erfinden, sich also quasi los lösen von der weltlichen Limitierung und Form. Und so erobern sich Robert Kabas Werke jeden Raum, sie sind Statement und Philosophie und mit dem Wunsch der oszillierenden Loslösung sind sie das, was, so Kabas: „die Physik seit etwa 80 Jahren als die Unmöglichkeit einer exakten Ortsbestimmung schildert“ also - nicht ganz von dieser Welt. Sie sind Utopie und stehen für das, was uns alle unser Leben gestalten, es leben und träumen läßt.
