One of the most famous artists of Austria who developed a highly sophisticated handwriting is the 1945 born Peter Sengl. He is called one of the last ‘Malerfürsten Österreichs’, a Grand Seigneur famous for an uncanny combination of humour and erotic art. Emerging from post-war Austria Peter Sengl is well known for his colorful and dynamic, sometimes shrill, sometimes provocative, in any case always idiosyncratic and exciting handwriting. His oeuvre presents itself with self-confidence and self-irony. The artist studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien. He was awarded several art prizes like the Forum Stadtpark Prize Graz and the Styrian Art Prize. Peter Sengl has exhibited across the World, at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Leopold Museum in Vienna, and the Rupertinum in Salzburg, among others.
